My dad died today at 3:30 on a sunny afternoon
His death was very peaceful
The world without him is so different
My greatest thanks for your kind comments and emails

Dear Jen,
I wish I thought there were words of comfort that I could say – but I know there are none. I know this ache, the feeling that your heart has been ripped out of your chest.
All I can offer is this suggestion……..share your grief and pain with those closest to you. Lean on thier shoulders, and let them take some of the pain and carry it for you…until you can carry it yourself. Your friends and loved ones want to do that for you – please let them.
Know that all of your CQ girlfriends are out here in cyberspace sending hugs and prayers for you and your family.
Praying for you tonight,
Jen Rinehart

Jen,
Hugs and prayers.
It is so hard to watch your parents walk down the hallway and through that door. The last thing they teach us is how to exit. But that doesn’t make any of it any easier.
It seems like they strike a match from the matchbox of our soul and use it to light their way. Leaving behind a little empty space and the memory of a warm glowing light.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Jen. A good friend had a wonderful story told at her husband’s funeral…the gist of which was that a person’s soul is filled with glitter and when that person passes, their soul goes out into the universe and explodes its glitter so that all are touched by it and when we walked out of the church after the service, the all of the sidewalks sparkled with red glitter. It was wonderful. I have already been touched by your father’s glitter through you. Here’s to the rest of the world being so lucky! Love and peace to you. Susan

Jen,
I wanted to share this quote which was sent to me when my father died a year and a half ago. It soothed my heart and I hope it does yours as well.
Daina (Dinah) P.
“Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I, and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well”
