was less climatic for me… what I wanted to do was continue to mine the thread begun the day before in my sketchbook from L.K. class but I was also happy to attend the very loving Anahata Katkin’s Symbolic Icons workshop – I took a class from her last year and made the worst piece of dogie do do, and so I loved that this year I
A) Made something I liked and learned from
B) Did not finish my second piece and was totally okay with that
C) Realized that I am not someone who needs to work fast to make art (to get past perfectionist critical voices) but instead someone who needs to slow down and feel, connect with Spirit, open and receive… which I have yet to do

I did not stay for Show and Tell but hurried home to pack and get up at 4 am the next morning to fly down to Santa Barbara, where I am now, with Lilly, for spring break. Chris is flying in from Florida tonight for a few days together. It is lovely to be here, much less sad then in years past,  and so precious to connect with a few dear friends.The light is extraordinary as are the memories of being a young mom here in these sweet streets and fuzzy hills. We are staying in Anna’s house, a comforting lavender nest of twinkling wind chimes, velvet quilts, ocean shining, bird nests everywhere, and always love blooming,
