Darling, the party has moved! After 10+ years and so many breath-taking adventures, I've laid down my crown and picked up...the Savor & Serve Experiment. Come see what it is.

Distillation – Kripalu 2010

Guest post by the Amazing Joanna Meriwether

We sleep like girls-
in bunk beds
with sheets and blankets
messy on our shoulders and hips

As goddesses
we have spoken poetry
to the noise of our lives
and watched it dissipate
like morning mist

There’s something there
deep in the middle
of the labyrinth
As we dance in and dance out
the body knows its own joyful nurturance

We see the gift in the center
our own luscious hearts
softly singing “I found you…I found you”

What will we take into the world?
Images of creativity and love,
our own good enough selves.

I bow to Joanna and each wide-hearted woman who loved herself enough to ask “What do I want?” for 3 full days.

And listen to the answer.

To allow yourself to want what you want.

To greet yourself right where you are.

My heart remains with you.

P.S. A family emergency means a mother and her daughter cannot attend Taos. Two spots are now open. If Joanna’s poem sings to you, if your creative heart aches to be nurtured and held so that it can really create, then please join us. All the details here.

Thanks for the poem, Joanna, and thanks to all of you who shared the experience. Transitioning back to ‘real life’ has been about as bumpy as I expected, but I have not lost that sense of knowing who I really am that I took with me when I left on Monday.
Be gentle with yourselves, fellow travelers.
