It was The Woman's Comfort Book that led me to follow my true passion -- I left health care administration and became a preschool art & music teacher, and I love it with all my heart! I'm a bit poorer in finances, but immensely richer in happiness and well-being! And best of all - my work makes a difference in young people's lives. I get to be a positive role model -- and that brings me the greatest joy.
I always recommended your books to my friends, and I give them copies for special events. It was specifically The Woman's Comfort Book that had the most significance for me: the sections on "Becoming a Guru of Play," and "Get Silly." Many nights, I'd come home from a stressful day at work, looking forward to re-reading those sections and carrying out the activities, and afterwards, I felt immensely better.
Soon I realized I was turning to those sections more than ever before, and also realized that, after doing the activities, I was feeling more true to myself and more in touch with the world around me, and eventually, I finally realized that my soul was trying to tell me something important!
I wasn't meant to be a bored, stressed, unhappy administrator -- I was meant to be a preschool teacher and artist -- it just took a little while (and a little nudge from your book) to get there. :) -- Katherine
