The Rest Police were out tonight while I was trying to get something, anything done while lying down in bed with my computer. Truly, all I wanted to do was turn off the light and enjoy the silence of my beautiful home. Hoping I might get some Loud and Clear inspiration from you I put my work aside and blogged on. I was excited to find your third podcast, mainly, I must admit, because I could just lay back on four pillows and flake out for a few minutes and listen rather than read. Anyway, it was exactly what I needed to hear. When Camile said we need to listen to the ebb and flow of our inner selves (or something much more eloquent) I really got it. I was having one of those I didn’t get enough done days like you mentioned. Anyway, now, after not doing anything further except sending this simple thank you, I’ll turn off the light and not feel guilty about it. Thank you. I wish I could pass you a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie through this computer!

By the way, I loved the first two podcasts as well, and it’s fun to put a real voice to a writer.

I’m really enjoying these podcasts (although I can’t get the subscription thingy to work, so I hope you’ll continue to post when a new one is available!).

I related to the being “cruel to yourself” with too many expectations. I’m often guilty of going to bed thinking, I didn’t accomplish this, I didn’t get that poem written, etc. etc. Too many weekends I create a mental list of all the things I want to cram into accomplishing in the weekend, and too many weekends I end up Sunday night frustrated that I didn’t do them! I might have had a great weekend, but I won’t let myself enjoy it because I didn’t complete the “mental chore list”…grrr…why do we do this to ourselves????

Thanks for the good feedback.I realize I’ve been doing this radio thing- now podcast- in pretty much a vacuum for the last almost five months and you know, it’s great to get feedback. Hope you’ll offer suggestions too!

Hi Jennifer, Thanks so much for your podcast with Camille. It’s the first time I’ve tuned in and I did it here at work this morning for a little guilty break with a cup of coffee. Oh man, did it hit home! I arrived this morning with twenty to-dos cluttering my tired brain. I was breathing shallow and my stomach was clenched. I logged on to your blog and listened for only ten minutes. Your idea about calling back my energy really was a true epiphany. I realized that I feel most scattered and disconnected when all my energy is out there and none is left inside to ground me. Camille had said just a few minutes earlier that she liked to feel the ground beneath her and it reminded me of yoga. Feeling a connection to the earth and the space around me and really tuning in instead of out. I put both feet on the floor and stretched my arms up to the ceiling then to one side and the other and I felt a big ahhh! I’m breathing back my energy and ready to take on the day. Thank you, thank you.
