Yes, I read Mark’s newsletter and was struck by the same quote. It’s easy to get caught up in trying to ‘find’ our true calling or life purpose–as if somehow that will bring us heightened happiness not available in the present moment. Once again, a good reminder for me that it’s not ‘what’ we do but how we live. Can we embrace the ordinary everyday miracle that flows through our fingers???
Tim Ferriss in the 4-Hour Workweek talks about separating business from play. At first I didn’t resonate with that. “Make money doing what you love” rang in my ears. But taken to far, this belief can see us being defined by our work, riding the self-worth roller coaster of business successes and setbacks.
The beauty is simply being present enough to enjoy our work, relationships or just ‘this moment’ brings me back to my essence.
