What is Under Our Noses?

I put my first radio show "in the can" yesterday… it was very hard as I was the host… and the guest!  Needless to say, I won’t do that again.  The channel is not live yet so everything is not set up for guests and call-ins so I stumbled through alone.  I tackled way too big a subject and learned KEEP IT TIGHTER AND SMALLER. So round one = good learning.

PLEASE consider calling in to the next show with your questions and comments about LIVING A GENUINE LIFE  (not that that is such a smaller topic than balance!)-  How do you live a genuine life?  How do you know what is genuine for you?  What have you learned works and doesn’t work?  I would so love to interact with you. The number to call is 1-866-675-6675 and I’ll be taping the show between 12 and 1 Pacific time (3-4 Eastern) on Monday November 14th.  Please do call!

AND here’s what was right under my nose: praise.  I was given the simple practice of praising myself by a medical intuitive about a month ago. I did it for a few days, loved it, saw my energy soar, and then stopped.  I remembered it this morning during my meditation time and bingo! The harsh expectations that clouded me this past weekend lifted as I praised myself for the many, many things I had done that I was satisfied with, proud of, tickled pink about.  As my friend Molly Gordon says, "We are such better historians of our failures and traumas then of our triumphs and successes."

LOVE the new photo. Please don’t take this the wrong way, because the other one was lovely, too…but you look like a completely different person in this photo.

Simplicity is what’s right under my nose (ha! I just mistakenly typed “noise”…how appropriate!) My life would look rather simple (and quiet) if you were a fly on the wall…but I often complicate the simplest things, without even realizing I’m doing it. I don’t complicate them through my actions necessarily…but through my ENERGY. And not even my physical energy, because I’m pretty efficient in that area. But I allow my emotional and mental energy to get messy. I don’t allow myself the time to meditate. I’m a master at physically relaxing while keeping my mental and emotional motor running. So for me, that’s it…breath, centering, stillness…it’s right there under my noise…er, nose. ;)

i ditto marilyn’s comments about the new photo. much more current and i love hammocks, but dont own one yet!

and now about praise i DEFINITELY do not praise myself enough if at all. what i tend to do instead, is reward myself.

if i feel i have especially worked hard on some project/chore etc then i will reward myself, by indulging in what comforts me.

whats right under my nose? hmm i dont know.

but i just quit one of my 2 jobs last week and now with only one job i am having lots of unstructured time which feels very weird. i have had 8 days off in a row and i do find myself fumbling to get new sea legs with not being pressured by time all the time.

im trying to learn to listen to my body better without feeling like a lazy so and so when it feels tired and wants to lay down in the middle of the day! im having to give myself permission to do that.

my to do lists have not grown any shorter and i am amazed i ever got anything on my to do lists done b4- with 2 jobs and school.

so now im learning to live by a different tempo. im looking forward to it.

    thanks for listening!
